WEST PALM BEACH-- Local homeowners are being warned about a scam in which a company is sending notices to residents, asking them to pay anywhere from $85 to $120 for unnecessary copies of house deeds.
According to a statement released this week by Palm Beach County Clerk and Comptroller Sharon Bock, residents are urged to ignore any mailers marked “Deed Processing Notices” sent by a private company called Secured Document Services in Washington, D.C.
A resident alerted the Clerk & Comptroller’s office last week to a notice she received from the company, which, according to the statement, has been the subject of consumer alerts around the country.
Though the company offers copies of housing deeds for $85, and adds a $35 charge for orders made after the due date issued on the letter, Bock says homeowners don’t need a paper copy of their deeds. She said homeowners can access and print their deeds online free if they wish at www.mypalmbeachclerk.com.
Bock says anyone who received the notice from Secured Document Services should throw it away.

It has been noticed that many residents are using their garage clickers to walk into the buildings. This is increasing the amount of times that our garage gates have to go up and down and is causing unescessary wear and tear on our garage gate motors. Plean refrain from using your clickers to walk into the buildings and use the pedestrian gates instead. That is what they are there for.
REMINDER- Guest parking spaces are for guests and only guests- if you are a resident with a decal on your vehicle you need to park in your designated parking space.

PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU CONTINUE TO FAMILARIZE YOURSELF WITH YOUR DOCUMENTS WHEN IT COMES FLOORING, RENTALS ETC... IT WILL ONLY BENEFIT YOU IN THE LONG RUN.
Please note that the requirements for soundproofing material when putting in new flooring has been changed from an STC Rating of 48 to an STC Rating of 72.
